Running Rich at High VS Low RPM [HPA Q&A]

Показать описание

Should you run as rich when you're at sustained high RPM as when you are lower in the rev range? The answer to this leads into why you shouldn't actually run the same air fuel ratio across all your load and RPM range.

This is just one question taken from an Introduction to Reflash Tuning lesson using HP Tuners, however the knowledge will apply to other platforms.

My eco seems to begin running rich once I start going above 5k rpm, quite noticeable after a few pulls. Can definitely smell it. Is this normal, or should I consider getting a tune?

Any way to simulate these kinds of tests on the street? I don't have access to a dyno.

Great lesson as always boys. So are you saying add fuel vs retarding timing at high rpm is better generally or is it very engine dependant??
I'm tuning a vq35hr.
