Coasting can also occur when keeping your car in neutral when in motion.

can i just make a point one of the reasons you shouldn't coast is because it makes braking way less effective, its even more dangerous on down hills because when you have clutch in the gears and engine are engaged which means the engine is controlling your speed some what depending on which gear your in, that's why on steep down hills you tend to see signs that say use low gears because it can help control speed
