Taking A Stock Subaru WRX STI To Stage 3!

Today we are taking Tinas (IG: Krisw3) STI and actually giving it some performance modifications! Her car is pretty much stock. It's got an intake on it but I really don't count that as too much. SO We've got a nice set of ID1050s, Grimmspeed limited catted downpipe, Perrin 2.4" Turbo Inlet, Grimmspeed Boost Controller, Cobb fuel lines, and an AEM 340LPH Fuel pump to go into the car! This should wake it up quite a bit and put the car around 300WHP or so!

Random quick builds are great. They break up some of the grinding projects require. I'm always reminded you will never see a shaved Subaru engine bay. It's just a rat's nest of hose and wire

It's nice to know that you can get that much done that quickly. I just picked up my 22 WRX and those first 1000 miles are murder man, but I think the first thing it needs is an exhaust its so quiet. Keep the content coming man.

I definitely like seeing how easy it is to do the easier mods that are for still being regular daily driver's while getting more power would love to see more 😁

I know it's not everyone's taste but love the wrap and engine dressing. Not sure about the back end though but obviously she loves it and that's all that matters

O2 sensor removal and install mega hack! GM has a spray can, I am not home till Sunday so I can’t give ya the part number yet, but I have used it professionally for like 20 years and ever since I’ve used that spray, I have never had an o2 sensor not come out or go in and damage threads. You crack the o2 sensor. Spray the special sauce. Tighten it and then loosen again, and keep working it back and forth until it comes out easy. I have done probably thousands of o2 sensor removals and installs that way. I’ll try to remember to post the part number Sunday. It works great on exhaust bolts and nuts too. If I remember right, it’s a penetrating oil with liquid graphite in it. Anywho.

FYI, Cobb has 2 Fuel Pressure regulator SKUs, one is for aftermarket fuel rail and the other is for the factory rails. With the big difference between the kits being the fuel line they come with.

Im so glad to hear I'm not the only one that leaves those fuel guards off I hate taking those off especially on the older subies

It’s so nice to see Smeedia’s SoCal cousin Travis every once in a while.

Never had a chance to own an EJ yet, but man that rumble.... it makes me happy in ways I can't describe. My FA is nice but it just doesn't bring the same kind of Fizz (older top gear reference)

Not a fan of that car, like, at all (sorry, not sorry, Tina), but it's always a pleasure to watch the work being done. Enjoy the e-tuning, Tina! Hope you get all the horsepowers!

Just makes me want to buy stage 3 kit for my car! Best of luck with dyno prep and knowing the resistance of the fuel level sensor is great to have!

5:42 You said you didn’t think you were gonna be able to do fuel rails. We’re you able to get them to fit with the TGV motor. Cobb still sells Fuel rails and I don’t wanna waste money on fuel rails if I can’t get it to fit with the TGV…. 🤔

Hey tanner are you still interested in the shift knobs?

Do you think that adding a phenolic spacer will help the fuel rails clear the tgv motors?
