The 6 speed in the VB is the same 6speed that was in the VA it’s actually a 5 speed Subaru added 1 more gear to they hav been using the same split case Manuel transmission in these WRXS since 2008 like I said the 2008-2014 was a 5 speed but Subaru added an extra gear to it and called it a 6speed and threw it in the 2015-2021 and they may have done some minor things to it but it is still the same 6speed that was in the previous generation yes you can get these WRXS to run with the cable linkage and even get launch’s out of them but ALOT of enthusiasts are doing the STI drivetrain swap I did it with my 2019 WRX you can get plenty of horsepower out of the WRX 6 speed it’s the Torque that kills it like I said you can beat the heck out of the WRX 6 speed but it is not going to last like the STI 6speed I mean enthusiasts have been getting 900 lbs of Torque out of the STI drivetrain for years they are bullet proof this is why most enthusiasts are going STI drivetrain cuz we are seeing the capabilities of the FA 24 and with great power your going to need a transmission and a clutch that can handle that power and while the split case cable linkage WRX trans is good it will NOT hold long term if you going for anything of 400 lbs of torque and as many of us know these FA 24s and are making a crap ton of WHP and WTRQ with very few mods heck you can literally leave the FA 24 completely stock and I mean COMPLETELY STOCK and do a full E85 tune with the COBB AP and make Almost 400 Whp this is with absolutely no mods just a E85 tune and AP that’s incredible but you with need a drivetrain that can handle that power of a long period of time and that’s not the WRX 6 speed or thr WRX drivetrain what I think people should do is instead of dumping a ton of money into mods buy the STI drivetrain swap install it and do the full E85 tune and you will have a monster!

Top mount intercooler heat soaks like hell you may make them number on the first pull but to mounts are just not worth the money trust I make over 500whp and when I first started I went with it because everyone says it will do the same but I’ve seen with my own eyes the numbers will drop after 5 hard pulls ❤️

Impressive what it can do in the 400-450 range. But once you want to enter 450+ to 500 and beyond it gets expensive as fuck.

STI tranny swap, new clutch, more fueling, better cooling, bigger turbo, tires, forged internals (possibly), etc. It will cost 20-25k or more.

Damn some of these people are clueless.. ETS intake, Cobb AP, and a 93 tune puts down 360/400. E30 puts down 400/410.. tbh, these numbers are pretty low. Also, most of those parts are unnecessary. The exhaust is pretty free flowing, so there's no need for the $2000 worth of exhaust. Another $300-$500 on top mount intercooler which again, is not necessary..

you forgot a spare motor, since yours will blow under stage 2 tune. not enough oil delivery/cylinder cooling.
