Good insight. 4090 is indeed a 4K card.. The problem is most people view 4K as a waste of resources. The cost to upgrade also goes beyond $1599 for most gamers (new monitor, CPU etc..) The CPU being a bottleneck, requires another big tech purchase. The 4090 is great, but how many people can really afford it?

Update: Yes, it fits with room to spare in the Fractal Torrent even with a 360 radiator on the front.

I wonder if the 4090 will fit in a Fractal Torrent case considering the converter adapter for the power sticking out the side of the 4090. Might be best to get an ATX 3.0 PSU to eliminate that adapter.

Just found out the 4090 has no PCI Gen 5.0 and no Displayport 2.0....altough it could profit from both. Nvidia basically saving bucks(there is literally no other reason) on such an expensive card...what a joke. Their greed knows no bounds.

I'll wait for rdna 3 and 4090 partner cards and hope for price drops...worst case i just keep my 3090 till next gen

Personally I think AMD will be alright. Looking at the raster performance of the 6000 series, the 7000 series could be a contender for a decent price. The price being the main reason I have hope

Reality check, the 4090 has 230% more Tflops for 60-70% performance uplift @ 4K.
That's a 30% scaling factor of the raw performance gain over the 3090.
Which is frankly rather ordinary.
Has no one considered that we need 8K resolution to understand the true nature of these next generation of top tier GPUs

Just wanted to chime in that my 3090 FTW3 w/ XOC bios on water cooling still can't handle my Samsung G9's 240hz refresh rate and it's a 1440p monitor. but it twice the width as a normal 1440p so it's quite a bit of extra pixels. I'm hoping to snag a 4090 FE tomorrow morning.

I do not get it. How is 4090 being the fasted card, puts AMD in deep shit? It is the most expensive, the biggest, the heaviest and consumes the most power.

AMD doesn’t really need to match performance to save the day. They just need a decent card at an approachable price, in a normal size (not a 5 slot gpu) that doesn’t need a 9000w psu.

Great 4k card, would be interesting to see if there's a lot of bottleneck with older cpu's (like Intel 8th/9th gen or Ryzen 2000/3000 series) in that resolution. For 1440p not so great choice as we can see...

AMD just has to release a product that runs games efficiently at 4k with Ray Tracing enabled with a cheaper price tag and they're golden. AMD doesn't have to beat or even match the 4090 to win this round.
