Hey man!
I really liked your observation about Jeff literally seeing Lisa from a new perspective when she leaves Jeff's side and climbs into Thorwalds' apartment. To me, much of the film has to do with Jeff's perspective on life - his perspective on why the Thorwalds' activity has been suspicious being shot down by Doyle, only to be picked up with vigour by Stella (after their third conversation) and Lisa; Jeff's emotionally immature and cynical perspective on marrying Lisa, his perception of Miss Torso which ends up being completely wrong - ultimately leading to the theme that everything is not what it seems.

I’ve watched Rear Window HUNDREDS of times & I realize I have the distinct feeling of living through that ERA! It changes things that further generations won’t feel and that’s a huge advantage. We had no air conditioning. We lived downtown where we had windows out on a lot of action and the same visual advantage that Jimmy Stewart did. There were kids who played outside all day long which has changed in today’s society. I can actually feel what I’m sure Hitchcock wanted his viewers to feel. It’s still a tremendous film no matter how old you are but I feel privileged to also be able to feel the weather, the dialogue and the times.

Very helpful, specially refrences to the
pipe dividing the windows.
Interestingly, we have modification of proverb in the film, curiosity kills the dog (rather than the Cat).
Also, if we use Jung's view, Lisa and stella can be Jeff's anima helping him to Discovery the murder and identity murderer. Lisa is the symbol of female intution mocked by Jeff and his friend!

Rear Window could also be an example on how the paintings of Edward Hopper influenced Hitchock because you could look at the film as being set in a exhibition of his paintings rather in the courtyard of an apartment building

"did you kill him just because he liked you?" the scene with the strangled dog is paramount

Is it possible to go through depth with Miss Lonelyhearts. I know she only has approximately 8min in a total of the film but it would be good to understand the life of an old woman and disruption of matrimony/love/relationships.

I like to look at classes like they’re mazes.

Maths is a class that’s a normal maze. There’s one entrance to the maze and one exit. The inside of the maze could be the most complicated thing ever, but there’s always only 1 correct way.

English and other language based classes like history and viscom (the viscom exam is a lot more written based then people realise) are like a maze that has 1 entrance, but thousands of different exists. All of which have a variance of values but r all technically correct paths. The inside of the maze itself might be the most easiest thing ever… but sometimes u end up finding an exit that just isn’t good… still correct, just not good. (When I say exit I’m not talking about the conclusion, I’m just saying how it ends up looking by the end as a whole).

Then there’s the science classes… which have, not only thousands of exists, but also thousands of different starting points. But this time… they’re not all correct. Like maths, it only has 1 correct path… but the fifty exists completely burry that path in false paths that r extremely hard to navigate.
A maze that truely leaves a person lost 😂

Great video man! How would you respond to an essay prompt about voyeurism being entertaining but dangerous. I thought that I could discuss both the physical dangers (cast, Thorwald encounter) and psychological dangers (ignoring his relationship with Lisa, view of marriage)?

L.B. Jefferies knows more about Lars Thorwald than he knows about Lisa Carol Freemont.
