I find when I drink a glass of wine with my 'lunchtime' meal, I don't have a problem sleeping. I have a sleep number bed and it measures my heart rate and breath rate and that's always normal. Now, if I drink a glass of wine at night, different story! I also prefer European wines, particularly Italy and Spain and they are almost always free of crap.

We live in Turkey and make our own wine from just organic grapes, so know it’s pure with nothing added!

I can't drink wine on an empty stomach. It makes me dizzy and nauseous. Drinking it after fasting? I couldn't imagine! Did you eat anything with that glass of wine?

So interesting. I've been off wine for a couple weeks. I would usually have a glass with dinner, and then some more. My weight loss has been stalled. I finally dropped 4 more lbs. I've had some wine this weekend.

I have low blood pressure, & normal to low blood sugar. Struggle to continue OMAD past 3rd day!! Get highly irritable need fruits for glucose. I jog on alternative days, am perimenopausal

I do like to have a glass of red organic wine once in awhile and I found some “hard kombucha” at the store-zero sugar and zero carbs. I really like them and thinking also good for the gut health? I’ve broken fasts with more simple carbohydrates before. I don’t have a CGM, but I definitely FELT the low glycemic headache afterwards. I hypothesized that it just kicked out ketosis, beta oxidation and suddenly the glycogenic breakdown to make sugars was cut off, resulting in feeling transiently awful until I got other macros in. I’m not sure the alcohol hypothesis is all there is, over-burdening the liver to downreg ketone production. Still an interesting discussion!
