Screaming vs Belting

They’re not the same!
Though 18 year old Lara definitely thought they were…
I remember in college I had some girls talking behind my back saying that I was always just yelling and not singing.
At first I thought they were just jealous because they couldn’t “belt” like I could…
But then I realized that they were right…
I WAS screaming.

How do I know?
😭 I had a shouty undertone
😭 I kept losing my voice
😭 I developed vocal pre-nodules
😭 I cracked a lot
😭 I felt like my voice had a ceiling that I couldn’t break through
😭 My voice felt very stiff (not agile at all!)
Luckily, I was able to turn everything around (after being forced to do so due to my vocal injury!) 💪
