GDI Cold Start Misfire

Do you know what causes the all too common 'Cold Start Misfire' on Direct Injection Petrol engines?
We take a look inside the combustion chamber to understand why this cold start period can be so troublesome.

you should add to the description mazda skyactive misfire. My mazda 2 has misfires p0300 only on cold start while it warms up the cat. DJ 2018 135, 000KM sparks changed at 110, 000km coils look ok. That video helped me a lot. for now cleaning the throttle helped a bit. looking forward to try cleaning the intake...

Well that sucks . My 2018 chevy cruze with only 21k miles is doing this and the air intake is in the rear . But thanks for the information. I think im gonna buy a borescope and try to see how bad it is looking thru the spark plug holes

Thanks for the information. I have a similar issue on my 2015 ecoboost Mustang. The CEL is only triggered when starting the engine after a long period of hybernation. It could also be a cracked head gasket. Only 92000 km used very rarely as a holiday car abroad.
