How To Reset The Battery Monitoring Sensor (BMS) - MK8 Ford Fiesta ST - Short Version

Today we have the MK8 Ford Fiesta ST and I have a quick guide on How To Reset The Battery Monitoring Sensor (BMS) without the need of any tools.

This procedure will work on newer Fords and some older models without a rear fog button.

May I add, if you have a mk7.5 fiesta (2013 - 2017) to do the same thing( ie reset the battery monitoring system)
1) ignition on
2) turn on and off the rear fog light X 5 times
3) turn on and off the hazard lights X 3 times.
DO ALL THE ABOVE WITHIN 10 SECS.
the battery light in the dash will flash X3 times and go off, job done.

Great video, easy to understand, Dan. I have a 2019 Fiesta Vignale and the battery has just been replaced under warranty. The technician said the battery sensor had frozen and that if I ever wanted to charge the battery, I should disconnect both the positive and negative pillars before charging to protect the sensor. I take it that I can leave the battery connected to the vehicle and charge as normal, then follow your instructions to reset the sensor? Thanks, Richard.

Keep up the good work, i have the same car as you have, i have retired so i dont use my car very often like once in a cple of weeks, my car info said the car is in a deep sleep, i also found my keyless n/s/f door would not function, i have on my phone the ford app also said the car has gone in a deep sleep too, also said some functions may not work, but nothing to worry about, i also noticed my stop/start function has stopped working too, it jus comes up as a greyed out circle with one line across the symbol, i recharged my battery for about 2days, my n/s/f door lock started to work now fine which led me to believe it was a voltage problem, ive also tried to reset as per your video to re-set the battery monitoring system but it wont re-set, ive done it so many times now, would you by any chance have any other ideas why my stop/start is not working as this is my main concern, thank you for any help you may be able to advise me of. once again thank you.

Is it the same for a Focus? Stop start has stopped working on my Focus and I'm wondering if this would fix it.

The voltage on my 2021 puma is low, ive charged it, would i benefit from doing this?? Or is it just when a new battery is installed?? Thanks 👍

Hi Dan, a hug from Spain, Dan, i have problem with my ford fiesta st mk8 edition, the car loose the feeling from steering, no reactive, no changes at the diferents modes (normal, sport, race) ford calibrates the system, and all it, s ok, but they can, t find my problem, the car is no the same when i buy it....can you help me with any data or process to make the car feels like new?thanks for all, and thanks for your channel, it, s very nice!!!

But both of the front window bounce automatically back when we want to close them, we cant fix the problem, do you got any idea how to fix this?
