I didn't know pontoons on the ocean were actually a thing!! Being from the lake of the Ozarks I've been on the lake in a pontoon plenty of times! Sometimes it can be scary on busy weekends just from the wake of other boats the water gets so choppy I couldn't imagine actual ocean waves.

The pontoon is the equivalent of a seal on land or a deer on ice. It's best to just keep it close to shore 👍🏻
