How to Restore AutoCAD to Original Settings

So, you've changed a setting somehow and now you can not find that menu, toolbar, window, etc. What to do? Well, if all else fails, restore all the settings. Not the best solution but in a pinch, it is a cure all! In the AutoCAD folder, choose restore and you are on your way to a factory reset. Enjoy, but remember to back up your files first. 😜

Wow, an Autodesk provided tool to reset things, if you are on 2022 or newer. Looks like it runs the migration tool with /reset switch. I have always done this by nuking the registry item for a given flavor, like HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R24.1\ACAD-5101:409, then deleting the folder 2022\, again according to the flavor being reset. That works on older versions than 2022 as I think that is the first release with the rest option, though maybe its there but not in start menu... Good to know both approaches.
