So Nerva gets overlooked despite having a solid rule, which acted as the blueprint for the greatest rule over?

I like the quick overview type of videos but man it makes me want to dive deeper to understand the background. I like thus channel more because it sparks an interest in diving deeper into your topics. So thank you for that. Good work

Emperor Nerva had a pretty fascinating story, considering that he, despite being the 12th emperor, was born when the 2th was still alive, saw two roysl dinasties being overthrown and created the best the empure ever had A mini-series about roman history through his eyes from 30 to 98 A.D. would be amazing, actually

I always remember Nerva because I "Nerva heard of him"

Nerva's involvement in unmasking the conspiracy against Nero is overlooked. I'm really disappointed that the Nerva that appears in "Quo Vadis" has nothing to do with the historical one.

Dacia's resistance was real fierce for the time. They had even embarrassed Emperor Domitian earlier. It took Rome at the height of its imperial power while being internally stable, and a military campaign led by arguably Rome's best military minded emperor, wielding the legions at their best, to fully subdue Dacia.

Trajan felt secure enough politically at home and at the borders to pull together 150k to 200k men for the Second Dacian War. You do not find the Roman Empire putting together such a large single command under one man much because: A) Most emperors were not that well military minded, B) Most Roman emperors would *never* trust anyone, not even a family member, to have such a single large command out of fear of that army being used against them (even Imperial China dealt with that), and C) Most emperors couldn't afford to leave Rome for long due to worry of political machinations going on while away.
The last time up to that point I think, that the Roman Empire had put a single man in command of such a massive army wound up "mysteriously dead" when the campaigns were over: Germanicus.

For those interestbin the roman conquest of Dacia, there are two great romanian movies about those conflicts: "the Dacii", about Domitian's wars, and "Columna", about the conquest and romanization of Dacia under Trajan

The roman thieves conquered Dacia only from 106CE to 271CE a total of 165 years, and the occupied territory was much smaller, about a half of what this video shows, they never reached so North, there were always living the Free Dacians "Dacii Liberi" who permanently attacked the romans back. Roman ethnically mixed mercenaries troops never got so far neither to the east, nor to the west in Dacia territories.
And when they were finally thrown out in 271CE, they robbed Dacia of an unimaginable quantity of HUNDREDS of TONS of gold, plus silver and other values they could grab.
All they had was stolen from their neighbours..

The Romans only conquered less than half of Dacia, not Dacia.

The words Dacia or Mesopotamia were not even mentioned until halfway through the video?!

Trajan is on most historians list as one of the best emperors, and many think he is the best emperor.
What did the senate think of Trajan? May he be “luckier than Augustus and better than Trajan” (felicior Augusto, melior Traiano).
This line was recited by the Roman Senate during coronation ceremonies for new emperors.
For me, he is in my top 3 emperors, Octavian Augustus, Trajan and Aurelian.

The Decebalus attack in the Danube area and the Battle of Adamclisi (where the Tropaeum Traiani monument was later built in memory of this battle) occurred during the First Dacian War, not at the beginning of the Second. The purpose of this attack was to stop Trajan's advance to the heart of the Dacian kingdom, and the Dacians were aided by the Roxolani Sarmatians.
Detail: Decebal commits suicide after a futile resistance after the battle of Sarmizegetusa (and not during the battle, he managed to escape from the encirclement).

The purpose of this war was largely economic. The Dacian gold and silver, taken from the treasury of King Decebal and from the mines of Dacia, rebuilt the empire's finances and financed, among other things, the construction of Trajan's forum, the column, Trajan's market, some games, etc.

Does Domitian deserve any credit for stabalizing the empire? He reduced inflation, and was the least greediest emperor, plus the institutions ran pretty smoothly.

Well, the information about Dacia is mostly accurate, but the map is not the best.
Plus, you could have used another representation of kind Decebal. As we have images of him on the Column of Traian.

Hi! I would also add the years in the title, it helps knowing the order of the videos.
