great tip about send to kindle to write on pdf because other reviews did not mention that chance

I was planning on getting the scribe for reading pdf textbooks of math and physics. But now without the features of making shapes and straight lines is a big deal breaker and wouldn't consider getting it until amazon adds those simple features which every pdf editor should have anyway.

The fact that your annotations (text, image, whatever) can't be edited into and travel with PDFs makes this DOA for me. I need all the pen-bound features this "reader" has but without being tied to Amazon or the Kindle store.

Not being able to draw on side-loaded PDFs is a major fail; I can't believe anyone with a confidential document, for example a pre-release book proof or contract document, would trust sending it to Amazon's servers.

Unfortunately, the pdf format is not very good (readable) when the "send to Kindle" option is used. So I only read journal articles using USB transfer option as the text is readable (larger and darker). But not able to write on pdf in this way is so upsetting.

That is a real bummer that you have to use send to kindle to even draw on the document.

I actually really like that I could have a 2023 calendar with tabs like that, would be great for bullet journaling. Only problem is I don't have Adobe or a good pdf editor on my laptop to make stuff like that. I'd need to rely on templates or stuff i can find online.

I’m wondering how the send-to-kindle site changes the file format to be usable on the Scribe. Since the document acts differently if it’s side loaded or sent via the website, there must be some kind of conversion made by Amazon.

Can you do one of your PDF experience videos where you compare the viewing quality, refresh speed, etc. of complex PDFs (in previous versions you used D&D manuals) on the various large-format e-readers like the Scribe, Remarkable, and Elipsa? You did a couple of these several years ago for earlier readers, but I haven't seen a PDF Experience comparison of the new generation....

This answers a lot of my questions about PDFs in a kindle. This would certainly work for me for my purposes. It seems to be a whole lot faster than my Likebook P10. This is the sort of thing I mainly use my likebook P10 for. What I would like to know is about the sharing with other kindle apps. Are you able to view the markups on the apps? I suppose PDFs are not interactive on the kindle app?

The problem I'm having is that even sending the PDF via Send-to-Kindle (NOT side-loading!), it is formatting/treating it like your side-loaded example above. It's not letting me use the stylus for anything more than turning pages, it doesn't have the mark-up options at all. Thoughts?

Isn’t there another way to get pdf onto kindle ? Usually I on my pc open up kindle app and drop my pdf onto kindle, also on my iPad or iPhone I can get a pdf and send to kindle
