Why does ymir jaw titan look like her pure titan?

Issayama doesnt want to spoil the nature of titans early on.

I think it's because Porco and Falcon's version has the armor serum in the way Eren did. I recalled during the battle of thr fort, they talked about how they gave the Jaw Titan armor.

She’s still badass. Also, Ymir’s Jaw Titan gained sharp fang-like teeth instead of its usual flat shape.

that and they give hardening serum and thing like that to the titan shifter (well most of them) and so it did make their titan looking different like a mix of armored and jaw titan (a similar case is falco jaw titan who is like a mix of jaw and beast titan)

Or the concept of the jaw titan wasn’t fully fleshed out at that time by Isayama. Not everything in AoT has a giant mind blowing reason behind it guys 🤷🏻

Other reason:

Similar to how falco got his jaw titan to look like a bird, he had some of zekes (the beast titans) spinal fluid. This caused falco to have a more beast like appearance because he had some beast titan spinal fluid.
So I would assume Marley would make the pure titans (that ate the jaw titans) have jaw titan like traits before even becoming a jaw titan.
Because ymir didn’t have the same type of spinal fluid it may have caused her to keep the same titan form

The reason her titan took that form was due to lack of training as a shifter. The shifters we saw were trained to inherit the abilities. But she was never trained and not compatible. As for anyone saying armin wasn't trained... he had time to learn his titans abilities, and had prior knowledge to the Colossal titans abilities from battling. Ymir did not use her form often, and had no knowledge to it's abilities.

well ymir's mindless titan was 5 meters which is the same as the jaw titan, that could be the reason why she didnt change

Probably has more to do with the paths. She was destined in the paths to gain the jaw titan so her pure titan took on jaw titan aspects before she eat Marcel.

She Didn’t get the training for it point blank. The 1st transformation determines how the titan will look. In the case of Eren getting the attack n founding before joining the cadet corps. If you guys need to know one thing is that training to use odm gear is no small task. Buddy got fit and athletic swole 🗿. At the same time this helped him towards his titan transformation. Actually thats not exactly the case, yes the other two jaw titans we saw were similar but you all forget that they were brothers, so their same jaw titan forms looking similar could easily be tossed up to the fact they were siblings cuz the other jaw titans we saw during the rumbling didn’t all look the dame and that goes for all the other titan shifters that eren brought back, so her jaws looked different to theirs cuz shes not closely related to them, but we saw that for example other armored titans looked different to reiners armored titan, so if gabby had gotten his armor titan i wouldn’t be surprised of they actually looked similar due to their close family bond
