Cholesterol-lowering statins have helped millions of people around the world avoid heart attacks and strokes. And they are widely regarded as one of the most important advances in cardiovascular medicine in the past few decades. However, despite their many benefits, statins have also been the subject of controversy and concern among some patients and doctors.

Questions and concerns about the safety and efficacy of these drugs are nothing new.

One of the most significant concerns about statins is their potential to increase the risk of type 2 diabetes. While this risk is relatively small, lipidologist Dr. Thomas Dayspring explains that certain individuals may be more susceptible to developing insulin resistance when taking statins.

To learn more about how statins may induce insulin resistance and the characteristics of patients who may be at higher risk of developing this side effect, here's an expert with his strong stance on the drug.

I am sorry doctor, I think you are far to know anything about this subject.
I tried and experienced statins after my stent …
My hb1 was 5, 5 before and became 6.0 3 months after with absolutely the same diet, I am on ketovore,
One day 2 hours after dinner before taking my crestor 20mg pill, I tested 0.96, then a took the pill and tested 2 hours after …. It was 1.35
To reduce the effects on my blood sugar, I found that taking that pill at the end oh the meal reduces the blood sugar peak, but some days after I stopped this sh*t, because it was too much Side effects on me ….

muscle pain, high blood sugar and inexplicable fatigue

One another point : they have absolutely nothing to lower your blood sugar, give me just one case of someone who found himself in remission with diabetes medications … none.
But he keeps saying take your statins once you start suffer from diabetes, he he sends you back to the endocrinologist. And forget about you

I have know people who, once starting a statin, actually eat more poorly than before they started. This would definitely contribute to developing type two diabetes.

if you have kidney disease your options for glucose control are more limited. high dose statins can lead to kidney failure, read the side-effects that can happen with statins.
