Did you know the FDA has a black box warning on statins? Here’s why. Statins lower both HDL & LDL cholesterol to dangerously low levels, ironically INCREASING your risk for heart disease, strokes, and heart attacks.
They can cause cognitive issues like memory loss, confusion, and amnesia and are linked to Dementia and Alzheimer’s because they cross the blood-brain barrier.
Statins also cause significant nerve damage. A study in Denmark found that after just one year on statins, the risk of nerve damage increased by 15%, and after two years, by 26%.
Muscle pain and weakness are common, which can lead to rhabdomyolysis, a deadly muscle breakdown. Dr. Beatrice Golomb found that 98% of Lipitor users experienced Rhabdomyolysis.
Risk of developing diabetes escalated by 71 percent for women on a statin and by 46 percent for men.

Once you stop taking a statin how long to reverse the negative effects caused by the statin? Ie nerve damage, muscle damage and the start of diabetes?

Seriously, why are statins even used? It seems like any small gain (and that's highly debatable) is far outweighed by the detriment they cause.
