Hey Josh, I used to love to cook & bake. Just a tip: put some salt in the ice bath to lower the melting point of the ice so the ice bath stays as cold as possible throughout the process.

He did say “easiest”, not cheapest. If you want the cheapest, you literally have to just leave the custard in the bowl, put in the freezer, and take it out after like 15 or 30 minutes (I forgot), and stir it really well. Then you have to keep repeating that until it’s the consistency of soft serve. It takes like WAY more work and time, but it’s cheaper.

Favorite cook on the Internet overall, by far. I’m 20, aspiring to move out this year, and have *intense* desire to do plenty of cooking in my apartment after a lifetime of either takeout or heat-and-eat foods considering how much I’ve loved real cooking the few times I have. I made this recipe with the replacement of matcha. It was absolutely amazing and borderline texture of a gelato. It was so simple and fast! Thank you Joshua!

Hey guys i just made this as vanilla and id recommend dialing back the sugar to 3/4 cups or 150 grams due to the lack of coffee, i found its the perfect amount, a cup is a little to much imo
