This actually worked. I had been using my saliva in the past, but two cards totally stopped working. The WD-40 worked first try!!!!

Sprayed wd 40 on my SD card and scrubbed with a toothbrush and made sure SD card was properly seated in it's tray and it worked all data in tack just wanted to share

Yesterday I decided to try this on my Huawei's NM card as a last resort attempt on fixing it, since my phone is too old to invest money on it on official repairs. So far it's been about 20 hours and everything is working. If/when something breaks down I will be sure to edit this comment.

Only do this if the problem is not with the card, and you can access it using a card reader on the computer.

I used duct tape instead. I didn't know the wd40 trick. .. Lg g4.

I put a strip of duct tape on the back of the cards and shoved more in, until it pressed hard enough on the sd contacts of the phone to see the card... Same fix on my moto g4 which would not read the sim.

I do wonder if the wd40 trick is permanent.

Dont throw your cheep sdcard yet.at your phone.Go to setting.aditional setting.developer option.system tracing.categories.click all.then after it show sd card memory.u can restore as default.

You should'nt store important data on SD only, it's not well suited for permanent data savings. I use microSD cards for temporarly data storage and transfer only, since SDs are prone to fail or even get corrupted and in this case you loose all your data, so you should always make security backups on a harddrive.
