I'm only 10 minutes into your stucco repair series but want to let you know how much I appreciate your detailed And practical explanation of what's going on. It's so important to understand the “why” behind a problem instead of just the “what” and "how" of repairing it.

I am finishing up on a stucco project in direct hit hurricane Ian Florida that's exactly like your situation. However, even more of a can of worms is that there was no waterproofing behind the -- in my case vinyl -- siding like you show in this video. Anyway, now that I've torn out the rotted sheathing and installed new water resistant barrier, lath and stucco plus I've got the weep screed installed and blah-blah-blah I am going to install geotex fabric and rock to prevent dirt from roof runoff 'fsplashing back on my new stucco.

Great job. Wicking of stucco is a big problem and is a major cause of stucco failure.
