The stucco on our 1956 house has no weep screed and the stucco extends to ground level/the concrete walkway. 1) Do I need to install a weep screed as a retrofit? 2) How hard is that to accomplish for a DIYer? It seems that getting the screed up under the paper on old 1" and three-layered stucco would be really difficult. Some people say it is not necessary but our foundation is shifting from drainage issues...

It would help you to use a 4 1/2 " grinder with a cut off wheel for the corners. Liked.
