The cabbage guy has the most tragic backstory.

While Zuko's backstory is the most tragic, Aang's story is sad, too. Between him running away, finding out all his people including his mentor were wiped out, losing Appa, almost dying by Azula, being the one with the most weight on his shoulders in the war with being the last airbender, and being the first of team Avatar to die.

Honestly good and well done mah dude, also zukos story is fr just sad one of my favorite characters as well

I'd argue Aang's is more tragic since he carries the guilt of running away and being absent for a hundred years, allowing the fire nation to commit all their atrocities unchecked. It also broke my heart every time he talked about his old friends since it's still so recent and sudden and he never had the time to properly grieve everything and everyone that he lost

For some reason I always thought that someone that lost is whole country and the last of is kind was more tragic than someone that wants to go back home.

The heart of the avatar the last airbender most developed character and most greatest redemption arc in history of redemption arc there will be no other Princ their mark my words there will be lots of redemption arcs lots of bad guys turns in turn into good but there will be no second zuko prince of the financial

I personally don’t think he has the most tragic backstory in avatar, not even close, there are way worse, but that’s my opinion

Aang’s story is faaar more tragic than Zuko’s. It’s called The LAST Airbender for a reason. Not the Angry Disgraced Prince.

I don't think it's ever a good idea to compare trauma, it's not a competition their all bad..

But arguing that Zuko's is better than any other characters especially Aang is just disingenuous TBH... Was his life hard yes but so was everyone else's in gAang hell even Momo had a pretty messed up backstory

Although Zuko’s backstory is sad I think Azula had it worse cuz Zuko at least had a good support group with Iroh, Mai, and Ty Lee Azula had so much pressure on her and no one to help her through it

Hopefully this will get fixed with Zuko’s story! He’s someone who is worthy of respect, appreciation, and being shown gratitude because of his character progression and character development 😌💫✨🫰🏼🩶

Azula's whole life is more tragic

Look, I felt this way back in 2008 and I still feel the same way now: I don’t feel sorry for Zuko and I never have because I hate how it needed to be spelled out for him that he doesn’t need to prove himself to his father and just go his own way. That’s why I found it so satisfying for Iroh to yell at Zuko at lake laogai because my patience with the guy was as well reaching the limit. His had to find his own gratification, not by some ridiculous notion for his father’s approval.
