Zuko would of looked pretty goofy if he had that tiny little ponytail lmao

His scar in the show is actually really well done. I love the way they show the lack of movement around the eye and the inflexibility with the extra lines, not to mention his ear. I think it would be really hard to do the scar down to the nose and mouth while keeping this level of detail, as well as keeping it simple enough for animation and not taking away from his expressiveness.

Interesting video!

I think the small scar is much better because it’s sort of shaped like his father’s hand, meaning instead of just recklessly throwing flames, he actually went up to his son and basically branded him.

I never liked his ponytail that much his hair at the end of the book 3 was perfect

I don’t think I could look at that little ponytail for long until I burst out laughing

I kind of like the bigger scar, adds to the trauma but that ponytail is a violation

Read the art book, guys. It's so damn worth it, and really gives a perspective to how much love, though, care, and work was put into making Avatar.

I think they had to cut it down cause it was a kids show.

A full half scar would've made Zuko look too two-faced.

You know, what makes me even more sad and creeped out at the same time? The fact that Zuko's scar could have been in a shape of a literal Ozai's hand, burned on his face.

I'm so happy that the Zuko we all know love that is the zuko we got. My cousin loves tease me about how I simp for Zuko, but I'm pretty sure she wouldn't be teasing me if we got a Zuko like that! Seriously how did he fit that tiny fluffy piece of hair into a hairpiece!?

One thing I appreciate about the scar is how much attention to detail and care went into making it not just a decoration on his face. It is crucial to who Zuko is as a character.

the old scar kinda makes him look like the blue spirit

I think it would have upped he edge factor if they kept the long scar on his face, I could see it working with the yin and Yang theme and motifs they had in book one, and with Zukos arc throughout the show

The early desing looks more like a tattoo.

I think his current one is worse. To get the old one Ozai would've just blasted Zuko's face and it would be over. But with the one he currently has...

I want you 🫵 to put your right hand over your left eye with your fingers pointing toward your ear. Now with this in mind I present to you my head canon that Ozai grabbed Zuko's face and burned him point blank.

Im just glad he grew out his hair and kept it.

Honestly really doesn’t make that much of a difference, his scar is still very prominent and very noticeable and gets the message across fine

If Zuko had the scar from concept art he would basically be Two-Face

I mean, I prefer the idea of the scar looking like a hand mark so good call.
