I have had lower back pain for about a year now. And I finally had an MRI done last week and was diagnosed with DDD yesterday. I've tried PT, Chiropractics, etc. and nothing has worked... until today. I watched your guys video and tried the exercises and all I can say is wow, thank you two so much for your videos and all you do! I feel so much better! Thanks! From NY.

Everyone's body is different. Listen to your body if it hurts too much. Don't push yourself too hard. If you can, get a few visits with a Physical Therapist to set yourself up with something you can do a few times a week. I only needed three visits in order to make additions and adjustments that made a world of difference. 15-30 minutes of your week to stretch is worth being able to work and play in front of your computer with pain-free focus.

Hello Guys just want to write you a short note. First of all thank you for keeping up us updated with wonderful useful information. Also I want to thank you for inspiring me. I have started a Physiotherapy Study last October. Finally I would like to ask you for some exercises for patients with Basstrup Disease. Thanks and best wishes from Germany!

I want to cry... My disc issue has stopped me from figure skating and i just miss the ice so much.. The ice like, my only therapy. My doctor only gave me Lyrica for medication and told me to avoid bending down, lifting heavy objects and sports that require extreme flexibility. Its been three weeks and I became impatient and worried that I'd lose my flexibility, so I brought out my exercise mat to do some stretching. I was stupid enough to do the one where you sit with your legs flat on the ground in front of you and bend to reach the end of your feet, and It only took two seconds until I feel my mistake - a *flick* of pain in my hip area - AND THE PAIN DOESNT GO AWAY. I can barely walk now, I've been limping and Its all Me to blame for it. I NEED to heal this. I was actually allowed to go iceskating tomorrow as long as I dont do anything rash or bendy, but I just fucked it all up for myself. I fucking hate my body and my stupidity.

Thanks again - I've been doing that halleluiah back stretch I learned from you a long time ago and it has helped my lower back pain (from degenerative disc) so much - but still experiencing pain in left leg when getting on the treadmill. (only 1.2 mph)

Thanks for explaining how it works. I did not understand why exercise could help.

Thank you for your video. It was quite informative, as I was just diagnosed with this, and am hoping it will help alleviate some of the pain.

I love this video! I'm a surgical tech and therefore am standing alll day. I have had back pain my whole life and it started when I was 18 from improper lifting. I'm now 35 and last year I finally went for my first MRI (after years of chiropractors care) and was diagnosed with DDD. I am absolutely determined to cope with it (and not have to quit my job again) through stretching, yoga, exercise, etc. I am now looking to purchase an inversion table. Is that something you recommend as part of my arsenal of coping with DDD?
Great video, by the way. Thank you for showing us exactly what the exercises are doing (widening the gap.)
