I grew plants from seed but I always give them away because I feel guilty if I charge for them. Everyone asks how much but I always say nothing I just ask for my containers back 🤷‍♀️

My daughter has a friend who went to garage and estate sales, always checked the costume jewelry and bought a ring that just looked dirty and junky. She also had education in gemology, the stone turned out to be a 3 carot diamond that she had reset and later sold. Now that was a flip!
I have a degree in home economics, I sew, hate to do alterations, I am constantly asked. I make charity quilts and crafts. I started making tote bags and they sold well. I started making masks to donate, individual people would ask and give me a donation for more, I was able to set aside $1, 000. From this, in addition to what I donated. I am retired and in my mid 70’s, not really up to starting a business, but I hear so often, “you could make this or that and sell it”. I also paint and sold a lot of small paintings and jewelry items in a local consignment shop. It is amazing the opportunities there are. Thank you for this video.
I recently discovered on YouTube a young girl who is a full time kindergarten teacher and flips furniture in order to pay off her student loan debt. She succeeded in 4 months. You may have seen it, “FFT” Furniture Flipping Teacher.

I love grocery shopping so I do Instacart. 😁 After shopping for multiple customers in one day I get my shopping fix, but I haven't spent a penny. On the contrary I average more per hour than most people in this area earn with a full time job. But as a homeschooling mom of 4 children, I can work when I want to and be with my children as much as I need to be.

My late father was a lettering artist, he went to several, what he called, trade schools. During WWII his job was to change all the street and direction signs in Europe to confuse the Germans. I He made his living painting signs and doing calligraphy. It can be more than a hobby if you are skilled at it. I recently spoke to someone who was in the business of making commercial stain glass windows, he told me lettering artists are so hard to find.

I would go to storage unit auctions and then sell the stuff either at a flea market or a yard sale.

I’ve been able to be a stay at home mom for many years while also providing full time care to a couple other children. They go everywhere with us and become a part of the family!

I also save money by making gifts for wedding and baby showers. My handmade gifts are always a hit.

When I was home with my kids I did woodworking, painting, sewing, taught quilting and did many other creative things and that was our extra money. I collected vintage dishes from flea markets and garage sales for a hobby and had 300 pieces of vintage 1950's and 60's Pyrex. When we downsized I sold off about 100 pieces and made quite a bit of money as Pyrex is high priced now. I sold one set of bowls I bought for $2 for $150.

We buy the storage units when they come up and sell at the biggest flea market around us. You can find some really nice things, not usually "treasures" or a lot of valuable items, but some are pretty decent. Word of caution.... my disclaimer if you will... we are gettin older, retirement age and some of the items are quite heavy. Nice wooden things are heavy, so if your not able to move these things around and out of the unit in a timely manner, don't get yourself tied up with issues. One of the storage places we use has a big turnover. They need the unit turned ASAP. So beware of that. Other than that, I wish we could have been here 20 yrs ago 😁 ... gt

I did calligraphy in high school and college for extra money. Wedding invitations were my specialty.

My daughter in Florida was always into fashion and finds great bargains. She was a salesman in upscale retail and knows all the brands. She buys used and vintage clothing and sells on Poshmark. Now she only does that as she has 150 thousand followers and sells enough to make what she made in her full time job.

I have made a little side money cleaning a home weekly, hemming pants, and thread crocheting last names for wedding gifts.

My dad has been into antiques & antique cars before I was even born. He has always been so good at restoring them. Ever since his retirement due to health reasons, we started a fb page for him and now he gets people from around the country looking for restoration work for their antiques! Sad to say I did not inherit this amazing skill 😅

When we were young parents we did car detailing part time, 1-4 cars per week. That was in 1981-1990. We were paid $100.00 per car. I don't know what today's rate is, but I bet it's pretty good. It wasn't easy work but the pay helped us buy a house.

I love what you're wearing.
I'm doing a filet crochet while watching you . I mostly crochet for friends, family & us....but I have been asked to make a few pieces & been paid pretty well for it. Lots of people love to crochet but w/yarn. I love using yarn but I also love crocheting w/crochet thread & a tiny steel hook....& those pieces are what I was asked to make.
When you mentioned buying a table for $50, refinishing it & then selling it, that reminded me of the cute table we've had since our second year of marriage. We bought it at an auction for 75 cents !! We've called it our 75 cent table ever since & would never sell it.
But you're right ! Money can be made buying something for not much, refinishing it & then selling it.
My sister used to date a guy who makes his living finding cast-off items or paying very little for things at yard sales, then selling them on EBay.

I had a handmade jewelry business for several years, but closed it due to COVID pandemic last year. I have since made junk journals from hardback books and little Golden books…. I just don’t know where to sell them…….
