That volume would kill my ligaments. I'm doing full body work 3 times a week going from 8 rep on mondays, 10 rep on the next day and 12 rep on the last day. Gaining like crazy with that. I'm 50 so recovery is very important to me.

I remember the firts time I saw jeffs full body workout, I thougth: there is no way my shoulders and elbows are going to endure that. So totally agree with you.

Excellent analysis. Also doing full body every day in a practical sense requires lots of warm up and moving around the whole gym hoping every station is empty. We have to make sure what we do works in real life too

I like Jeff’s routines and find him very knowledgeable but this routine burned me out. Admittedly I am 48 years old but the routine took 2 hours 5 days a week.

Big Faz, good to see you on here mate - top video and I agree. It's strange that he's advocating this routine as it just seems so poorly thought through... there's basically 4 consecutive hard(ish) days followed by 1 fluff day then 2 rest days???
It's funny, a good few years back Menno and Borge were the only guys advocating full body high frequency, but they very much cycled through heavy/light sessions.
Go even further back and you had Charles Francis advocating for "high" and "low" days - which is the system I have been using for years now.... High stress days (Heavy, sprints, power, tough conditioning) one day, Low stress days (everything else) done on the next.
Good critique mate

Youtube appears to be having issues with thumbails today. I will leave this video up anyway. Enjoy.

Good analysis. When I was starting out it was always full body 3 days a week. I don't remember anyone recommending 5 days in a row.

as im on school holiday and have all the time in the world (i followed a 5x full body split but could only train like 3-4 times a week on average cuz it was burning me out) to maximise muscle growth would u reccomend ur upper lower or full body split? i do very much enjoy full body but was carried by my newbie gains.

i have bought the wizard but is 3 days enough to build muscle more effectively than a 4 day split?

Faz i agree with a lot of the points you make in a general sense when looking at the program out of context, but if you watch the videos and read the actual program the work is all prescribed at given intensities/reps intended to manage the overall stress/workload. He acknowledges it seems like a lot on paper, but it is a late-intermediate/advanced program with the goal being to push beyond one's current limits. I get what you're arguing here about the weight beating you up but the weight prescriptions are waved between heavier and lighter on alternating weeks to allow for recovery. Not sure if you watched the videos outlining the program structure/exercise choice or purchased the actual program, but a lot of what you're speaking on here is addressed in great detail within those.

What do you think of Alphadestinys 2 total body a week concurrent periodisation ? I feel like it’s really working for him but I find that not many talk about such system.

In a full body program, hitting a movement category with three exercises in a day makes no sense to me. Squat OR hinge with an upper push AND its opposite pull is much more sensible. Heavy medium light sounds good. I've just been doing heavy light. Of course at this point my heavy is really a medium...

Faz, how many days is your tactician routine per week ?

I'm a tad confused, as Andy baker HLM YouTube vid shows a variation where each day starts with a heavy movement
Albeit only 4 days
Then a light exercise after.
So why is that different other than doing 5 days that Jeff does?

It's quite interesting to see the immediate dislike as soon as you drop a name!

This is not a personal attack on Jeff. I don't do that kind of thing. I made an important point about recovery here.

If you take Ultimate Orange with this program, everything will be fine! All kidding side, great analysis Faz!

I like Jeff but No one is 100% right all the time. I definitely agree that with your assessment and your solution to the weaknesses of the program. To those who come here to dislike just to defend Jeff's name, your boos mean nothing, I've seen what makes you cheer.

You're making a good point. This is a 3-day/week programming style applied to a 5-day routine.

I think Jeff Nippard, Eric Helms, and James Krieger all did this style of training together, right, during the same year? And I think Krieger, maybe Helms, too, gave up on it because of joint and tendon issues. Maybe I'm misremembering.

I just found this video Faz and it was very helpful. I've been doing full body 3 days a week. I'm going to modify my plan to stack my heavy days, rest 1-2 days, follow with light days and then finish with moderate weight. Thanks for the helpful video!

this is quite silly as he goes into depth about recovery from fatigue in the video. did you even watch it?

I think Jeff is very good at individual exercise & technique demonstrations, but his actual programming really not so much.
