hi there...very very interesting. I am a black belt in Shorin ryu and I've practiced some wing chun. I've always had the idea that Naihanchi looks extremely similar to the Wing Chung fighting style. Other karatekas always try to deny this by claiming Karate is purely Okinawan. I think I agree with you in several points. Thanks for sharing

We do use it a lot in my Okinawa Goju Ryu school and use it for many applications. I believe all other styles must train with it as well. Oss !

From my training in Goju Ryu we mostly use the equipment from Choy Lee Fut & Hung Ga such as the Ching Jong, Sui Sau Jong, Ma Jong, Mook Jong, Makiwara, Qiang Bao Zhuang, Sha Bao Zhuang. I've never seen the use of the Mu Ren Zhuang as found in Wing Chun in a Karate Dojo unless they also had Wing Chun or Jeet Kun Do background. I think the reason for this is the same reason none of the Wing Chun forms are in Karate; they have different origins. Goju Ryu Karate from what I've learned is most Southern Min origin such as Half Hillock Half Crane, Half Hard Half Soft Crane, Fujian White Crane, Name Pai Chuan, & Luohan.
