I got 2 ideas to make the biome cooler.
1: give the end of the vines creaking eyes just like the eyeblossom.

2: something usefull from the biome. Whenever a creaking dissapears by destroying its heart there is a VERY, VERY low chance it drops a heart link. You can wear it (1 armor) and name it. If you name it as the same name you named your creaking heart you got, you can then activate it by crouch right clicking wich gives you a 30 second shield, however that shield only tanks 5 hits before breaking and then getting a cooldown of 45 seconds. It will or course also break after the 30 seconds and then getting the cooldown.What is usefull is that other people can also wear a link with the same name wich when activated not only gives you. But also your friend the shield. Making it a usefull combat feature. To activate it tho you need 2 ressin chunks or 1 ressin brick. Being fuel for it.
