Flat white has less frothy milk, less air is added hence the name ‘flat’ white. 😅

are you aware that the information given in this video is wrong? i am curious because it’s so easy to find out. you don’t even need to be a barista as me

The cup does not matter. Flat white just had less air in the milk. Hense "Flat"

Starbucks' flat white is just a latte but uses ristretto espresso shots.

Im Italian and I live in Norway
I make flat white in the same big cup for caffè latte but with less foam and it has like a creamy texture on the top
No one ever complained?
But what I understand is that in every country is different because for example LATTE for me it means milk
And MACCHIATO for me it means double espresso with a little bit of milk in an espresso cup, but in Norway when they say macchiato they expect caffè latte.
Same with Cortado it’s supposed to be small but here in Norway they make it bigger.
But also the same happens when I make coffee in Italy I use the espresso button (the little one) but when I make coffee in Norway I have to use the other button for a “bigger cup” because norwegians use bigger coffee cups and they usually want their coffee take away and and they want that their coffee to last longer while Italians usually drink by the counter and talk with the barista or other customers.
I believe it’s a different coffee culture .
Every country has a different approach with coffee.

Huh? A flat white has less milk? First, it doesnt matter if you pour it in a glass or a cup. It depends on the cafe what they wanna use. You just have to control the amount of foam in each. Flat white has less foam than Latte so MORE MILK!. Latte has less foam than Cappuccino. Thats the difference. The amount of foam you pour into each. You can just Google this and theres pictures of each side by side

Omg people! A flat white is 6oz, the smallest latte is 8oz. A flat white ussually no more than three second rip, a latte a tad more, a cap more than that but every restaurant is different. My favorite theory is these are sizes only; in order of size; mach, cort, flat white, cappuccino, latte, latte mach (like in Italy). The foam goes up slightly w each. Some shops think of it more like this and don’t do classic cappuccino/mach etc. if you want a drink w more foam you just tell the barista. This is a much simpler method and allows more efficiency and speed and also more latte art. People have so many opinions on the foam it’s better to just let them specify. Use the names as sizes and rip more as you go up in size. If someone wants traditional than let them tell you for larger quantity of foam. The main reason for this is latte art too. That way the art is the same no matter what you get.

I don't see a difference at all! Except for the cup it was served in 🤷🏻‍♀️ I see the same milk texture, same amount poured in. So, I'm still not understanding

What you made is a Cappuccino in a Glass. Flat white has a 50/50 Ratio Espresso and Milk (Cortado also has 50/50)
Flat white 2 shots 50/50 Ratio
Cortado 1 shot 50/50.
Also flat white has maximum 0, 5 cm foam with a perfect flat white at 0, 2 cm foam

I STILL don't know the difference between flat white, latte, and cappucino..lol. Seems like it depends greatly on where you order it from. Also, what I make at home as a beginner is pretty much hit and miss. Want to make latte but it turns out looking like it could be any of these three. Head hurts. 😅

Flat white has the espresso shot of an americano yet ristretto shot.

there’s no difference ur just making this up. one baristas flat white is another’s latte, specifications for a flat white fall entirely within the specifications for a latte.

Flat White has almost Zero foam while Latte has 1cm Foam. Flat White serves in cup while Latte is serves in Glass. Basic Barista knowledge. 👌

I think it depends on how you steam it.
