As a Texan I'll say that our chili is perfect flavor wise but everyone else is correct that beans objectively make it better. Although without beans you can still thicken it up just by reducing it more in the pot.

I just made chili i usually don’t put beans in it or if I do it’s minimal. I used corn in place this time. Sweet on front end spicy on bsck end. I make really good chili I think I’ll throw next batch in smoker for some hours and see how it turn out. Cooking is experimenting, trial and error. That’s what makes it so fun imo
