The reactions here from Vi and Powder are honestly the right ones, I lost my mum when I was young.
Often the little ones look up to the older ones to know what to do, how to react, in that moment there's no right way. Hence Powder not reacting the same as Vi does, instead she watches her react, to understand what's happening, then again that young she wont fully understand the concept of death and grief.
Whereas Vi, the older one, understands this concept and also that they aren't going to come back. Hence her more raw and grief fuelled breakdown and dropping to her knees.

Me? I was Vi, and I reacted almost exactly how she did. Sorry for the psychological analysis- the course is kicking my ass.

When I first saw this scene I had to pause the episode. Only 2.5 minutes in and I was stunned by the visual story-telling. No dialogue and yet the visuals alone told us everything we needed to know not just about about these character's beginnings, but also how their world worked. The battlefield, the character's poor clothes, and the shot of rich Piltover tells you exactly what the divide is and where our characters stand. Haven't seen world-building done that well on screen since I saw Mad Max Fury Road for the first time. And all in2.5 minutes!

I like how this scene is done with no words but gives you so much info at the same time. You see the red, raging smoke, you see the two little kids, you watch them break down when they see two people dead on the floor (which we can only assume are their parents), we see Vander realizing he needs to protect these children when no one else can, we see the guards that caused all this and Vi’s anger, and then we see where the guards are heading back to. Piltover, inciting both Vi and Powder’s hatred for the city.
This is something I like to call “Visual Writing.” It’s words translated to visuals. It might have been a little more nicely wrapped up with a little narration, but it’s still easily decipherable.

I just noticed this, but I think this 0:33 scene is a mirror to the bridge scene in ep 7. I know other people have already noticed this, but look at the body’s and how they are positioned. In both scenes, the body’s are positioned the same or in similar positions.

If you need confirmation, look at the body on the far left. It mirrors Marcus when he died. As does the one in the middle and the ones on the right.

Vander's such a good guy and good character! Wish we saw more of the guy before he died. I'm hoping in Season 2 of Arcane we'll get to see Warwick and who knows, maybe him and Vi cross paths again one day.

In episode 6 of s1 where vi was bleeding and Caitlyn is about to give her the antidote thing as Vi opens her eyes at first she sees her mom and powder at first I was confused and then I remembered seeing the woman and realized it was her mom. It was either a memory or she was just seeing her mother
