I use the casino style shuffle first and then the overhand and wait for a couple of jumpers wich I incorporate in the reading.

I do hand over hand to prevent damaging the deck and helping it last longer. But I also mix the cards in the middle of the deck as well, not just the outer sides. Sometimes, I make individual piles to make sure they are thoroughly mixed. Then, after a reading, when I put the cards back in the deck, I flip them in the opposite direction so the same cards won't be upright or reversed all the time. But it's good to give it a good mix once in a while to make sure you're not getting the same cards together frequently.

And I'm so happy I came across your sight/podcast when I started learning back in 2018. When I got my first tarot deck. The Steampunk Tarot by Barbara Moore. And came across your podcast with Barbara Moore. After listening, I started from episode 1 with my tarot journal and binged listened to all that was available at the time when you first stopped the podcast. And learned allot, and still continue to learn from your content. It's time to catch up on the new episodes and learn more😊. Thank you for all your work. My readings are way better and more insightful now than ever.

Tarot & Oracle cards tend to be thicker and therefore harder to do a "casino" shuffle with so please don't worry about mastering that particular shuffle. Just remember to be thoughtful with your cards and your intention and you should be fine with any shuffle you choose.

As a casino dealer I actually do go for the classic casino shuffle - ruffle with the Tarot cards as well

I use the overhand shuffle, cut my cards, and the messy pile shuffle. I like the messy pile shuffle when I have a new deck or haven't used them in a whil3e.

I usually use overhand or a modified casino riffle where I just let the two stacks fall together. However, I've discovered that one of the best ways to consult some of my oracle decks is a modified smoosh shuffle. Either I smooosh the cards around and use my nondominant hand to intuitively pick a card, or fan the cards out and either look for breaks or pull a random card with my nondominant hand.

What is the jumper style shuffle? Is that when the tarot reader flings the cards everywhere?

I've got a combo. I riffle shuffle a few times to really clear out the deck; Turning one half of the deck, each time (for reversals). Then when I'm ready to pull cards, I start overhand shuffling; Two sets being placed in front, one in the back. Then I split into 3 piles and put them back together again. I might go back to a riffle shuffle when I start asking questions just to see if any jumpers fly out. If not, I shuffle a few more times and start pulling cards.

I was able to do the casino shuffle but sadly hands got stiff and I am not to do my favorite shuffle. So I am looking for a better way. Your video was charming and helped. Thank you.

I just got a tarot deck, seems overwhelming to learn all of them and the reverse interpretation of each one of them

I actually want to know how we lay the cards out. Should I flip the card over when I take it off the deck? What’s the actual mechanism to lift the card off the deck and place it down?
