Whatever way resognates with you and feels comfortable is exactly the way spirit will connect with you and the cards. Don't let somebody tell you the right way. Do it your way. That's the right way. For you. Period.

You can also gently shuffle them sideways if the cards are large, your hands are small, or the cards are susceptible to bending or stick together too much when done the normal way... similar to the bridge style but instead of forcing them together lengthwise, hold the two piles side by side widthwise and allow them to gently fall into a shuffle. Hard to explain, this is good for keeping the cards in a single direction too, for beginners :)

This made me realize I was doing a slow overhand as a fast overhand and not actually sliding the cards down 😮🤯

An old way I learned is to lay the deck face down, fan it out, and then shuffle the cards by pushing them in circles flat on the table, similar to dominoes. Then they are put back into their original deck shape and cut three times.

I usually go with the slow overhand and get a few jumpers that way and I take the jumpers and ones that stick out

No need to bend. You'll destroy your cards. But it's always your decision to make.

There is also the way where you split the cards face down in 3 piles and restack them back up only going left 3 times. Idk its a tradition i guess.

New decks are still “tight” and take many shuffles to break in and the shuffle feels more natural.

I never riffle shuffle my tarot decks - there's no need. And some of my decks are over 50 years old, they wouldn't survive for that long if riffle shuffled.
