Very talented young orchestra, fine conductor. Isn't it funny to see a whole orchestra where everybody has a full head of hair?

This version of The Planets is magical. I am 63 and it is the most rousing, beautiful, powerful performance of this piece I have ever heard. The young orchestra are a wonder to listen to. Their youth gives the work a spontaneous vigour all it`s own.

These fantastically talented young musicians under the guidance of Edward Gardner have produced in my mind the finest version of Holst’s Planet Suite, the potential in these amazing musicians is incredible, with this concert they have demonstrated what utter perfection can be produced regardless of age, their dedication and hard work in pursuing their dreams is totally appreciated in my house. Would loved to have experienced this live, I wish all of you, long and enjoyable musical careers.

Although I remain unconvinced by Matthews' 'Pluto' addition, this is hands down one of the best live recordings of the Planets you will ever see or hear. The depth and power is astounding, but matched with beauty and subtlety where needed too. Remarkable.

is why I love watching these orchestrational presentations. It's amazing to see the musicians "becoming" the music they are so painstakingly generating.
One cannot simply "play" the planets; you have to realize you "are" those planets you are representing.
Especially towards the end of Mars, you could feel the dedicated intensity needed to reproduce this outstanding finale. The god of War, turned these musicians into his own personal army of FEARLESS warriors!

GREAT!

This is a cosmic lullaby, and quenches the dryness of the earthling soul

Not only performed with precision, but with subtlety, energy, and emotion. This group put their own distinct stamp on a classic like I've never heard it before. Thank you for renewing and lifting this piece to a new level. Gustav would be very proud, I'm sure.

Okay but can we take a moment to talk about the absolute mystery and enchantment in Neptune? From the magic the woodwinds and piano brought to it, to the indescribable way they did the choir. And the conductor’s face! Even he felt that.

I have heard many recordings of this work on discs and in live concert, and this is, to me, the best performance of all! Amazing musicians, excellent conductor.
