The BBC Proms is a classical music festival held every summer at the Royal Albert Hall in London, and in recent years has explored new venue spaces through the innovative Proms at... series of events. Its aim; to bring the best in classical music to the widest possible audience, which remains true to founder-conductor Henry Wood's original vision in 1895.

Whether you are a classical connoisseur or think 'classical music is not for me' there is surely something for everyone in the 8 week stretch of concerts, workshops, talks and family events.

Land of Hope and Glory, Mother of the Free,
How shall we extol thee, who are born of thee ?
Wider still and wider shall thy bounds be set ;
God, who made thee mighty, make thee mightier yet,
God, who made thee mighty, make thee mightier yet.

I so proud of being British right now, never mind I'm actually Portuguese

You don't always find such a huge crowd of people (who probably don't particularly enjoy classical music daily) cheering like this after a piece. It's honestly quite touching

I'm a Brit, who left the UK in 2000 to start a new life in Chicago. Absolutely love it here, but I haven't forgotten my roots. Whenever I watch these Last Night of the Prom finales, they always bring tears to my eyes.

5:23 Dude has an "Empire Strikes back" t-shirt.
Is that this "British sense of humour" i've heard so much about?

Just when you most despair of modern music, this restores your optimism.

Here in the US we only do the middle part with out the lyrics and play it very softly at high school graduations... I literally never knew this was such a British thing and i have a lot of family in London! To me it was just called "the graduation song" now I know how truly beautiful this song really is!!

The Great British public singing Land of Hope and Glory more passionately than they have ever done before, let's hope they can continue to do so for many years to come...

I came from Hong Kong to UK in 2020, I feel very British indeed with this song and grateful that the British accept HongKongers amid the CCP political prosecutions. I was a member of a school choir, we play this master piece with a local orchestra in HK in 80s.
