'Severed head' found in Edinburgh street by Halloween revellers as crash victim confirmed as man, 74

An OAP has died after being hit by a bus in a late night horror crash which left him with a 'severed head'.

The 74-year-old was killed in the accident on Edinburgh's Cowgate as Halloween revellers partied nearby.

It's believed the man fell onto the road and was struck by a bus and suffered catastrophic injuries.

A number of roads in the area were closed to allow officers to carry out their investigation, however the roads have since re-opened.

Sergeant Louise Birrell, Road Policing Unit, Edinburgh: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.

“Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident."

So the media are trying to say that a guy falls into a bus, loses his head, for it to be left rolling around for the general public to see. No sign of a bus, which would have stopped for sure after the incident, no crime scene whatsoever and passers by just happen to walk past a head freely rolling on the floor. Hmmm yeah ok

I`ve just watched an update on this on Scottish News; on the report it said; " Police
have stated this is an isolated incident". I am 60 years old and I have NEVER heard of an
accident involving a vehicle & a person being described as an "isolated incident".

I lived in edinburgh for seven years, its busy as hell halloween weekend, how could nobody of seen this bus incident? No proof obviously but the rumors saying he was dumped by a car sound far more plausible.

The dudes head pops off and travels 200 metres through the air. Nothing strange or odd about that on a road where its a 20mph limit or the fact there is no bus parked close by which was involved nothing odd about that either.

I was brought up in that area and over the years its become incredibly busy and people are standing outside on the street drinking. This story doesn't sound right. The bus and the driver would there and the body covered, so if was a bus accident, the body would be there, but its the head we hear about. My sympathy is with the family RIP❤

Sad reflection of the times when you can’t believe a police statement.
