the scope of Eric's intellect is awesome in the traditional sense, but as explaining & clarifying goes, Bret is my man. What an amazing teacher. Thank you both so much for this.

This is the best episode of The Rubin Report yet. This is the one that people really need to see. This is important.

Eric has dropped an epic one, as an advice to people with "learning disorders". He said (and I hope I got it all right) 2:36:59 :

"You need to come up with entirely new toolkit or you won’t make it. Those tools exist because every subject is much easier than people who wish to make money teaching it would have you know.

For every single subject that can be systematized, there is systematization that allows you to get 80% of power, with probably 5-10% of the effort, and so key question is that you have to prove that you have superpower to rearrange the subject to disintermediate people who get paid teaching it, which will always push you to mastery, which is a question of getting last 2-3% out of system.

And so, the good news is you can rearrange any subject to learn most of it very very quickly. The bad news is that will feel terrible because you will be told you are doing it wrong way and dooming yourself to a life of mediocrity as a jack of many trades - master of none, but in fact problem is that jack of one trade is the connector of none.

Good luck"

What a trip revisiting these episodes now after watching them when they came out. How much more we all have learned and been through in the last 6 years....

While this was a fascinatingly intelligent discussion, exploring extreme current phenomenons from remarkably unique perspectives, what most intrigued me is the extraordinary level of respect and esteem these brothers clearly have for each other. Awesome to watch. Thanks again, Dave!

I'm probably in the minority, but I like this format more than the one on one. The Peterson/Shapiro episode was epic, and this is awesome as well. Eric is my favorite guest, period.

A Weinstein sandwich meant something very different at Miramax.

Eric's poise in turning that negative comment about his looks into a positive message was truly admirable. He is who we all should aspire to be.

Imagine talking to Eric Weinstein and he starts responding by saying: "Let me challenge you a little bit

I’m a hardcore, Christian conservative that proudly “Clings to my Bible and Guns” .... and THIS right here, may be some of the most brilliant and productive conversations I’ve EVER listened too.

Wow

Great job guys... I thought all of progressivism had fallen off the edge into insanity. You’ve restored a little bit of faith in me. That there still might be people on your side, that are rational.

Don't listen to the people saying you're being too vague or abstract. I thought the conversation was engaging. There is an audience for people who want to get at the fundamentals and emergent complexities.

I almost have to thank the SJW's and Antifa for providing the impetus for creating these long sought conversations.

In the first 17 minutes I heard a brilliant explaination about how birth order affected the brothers (and by extension all of us). And Dave...brilliant idea to have the two brothers on the same show.

This was three of best hours I've spent on the Internet - a thoroughly impressive discussion crossing many subjects. I think I will end up watching it again and taking notes of the references and citations they made for later reading. Bret and Eric have certainly fine-tuned each others analytical capabilities over time and I would love to see them take on a couple specific topics in tandem. If this is how insightful they come off ad lib, I can't imagine the depth that would happen with preparation and focus (but I'd love to see it). I'm also impressed with how well they can pick and choose ideas across disciplines - true systems thinkers that are clearly not afraid to revise their thinking, challenge the status quo, and truly put ideas ahead of egos. They don't seem caught up with petty loyalties to specific political parties, ideologies, or really any heuristic thinking that I can detect. They're just a couple of brilliant siblings tackling big ideas.

Dave did a great job of keeping things going while still allowing these two to get their ideas out with clarity. This was one of your best shows ever Dave. When we talk about disrupting/replacing the mainstream media with more effective dialogue and deeper conversation - this is what we're talking about. You're doing it... and I'm headed over to Patreon to support it.

One of the most healthy, informative, eye-opening discussions ive ever heard. Such a welcomed departure from all the main stream noise.

If you can get a round table discussion between these two, Jordan Peterson, Jonathan Haidt, Steven Pinker, and Peter Thiel, I’ll love you forever!
