A church sermon led by James bloody Brown, a joyous crowd, so excited and energetic, and ends with John Belushi freaking out in glorious fashion… and the movie’s only just getting started. Legendary

Under normal circumstances, I truly despise musicals. However, The Blues Brothers will always be on my top ten greatest movies of all-time list. It's truly a timeless classic.

I"m a white guy and I say this as sincerely as I can. I've been to a black pentecostal church before and this demonstration is freaking spot-on as to what it was like. I don't care if you are religious or not, every single white person needs to experience BLACK PRAISE at least once in their life. I'll never forget it.

Blues Brothers can never be remade. With all the musical talent this movie has and damage done. Impossible.

Such a brief appearance, but James Brown as Reverend Cleophus was somehow the most brilliant casting in the history of film.

It's 2021, and the Blues Brothers movie, continues to amaze me just as it did when I first saw it in the theater back in June 1980.

I had a gig a while back as a production assistant for a mobile recording studio that did a lot of live recordings of black gospel groups performing in churches in and around Durham, NC. Minus the choreography and high jumping, this was a pretty accurate portrayal of the atmosphere. Those churches ROCKED.

Went to a church service in Bermuda long ago and it was practically just like this. Dancing and singing like I never seen before. It was fantastic!

I was in Ghana for Christmas 20 years ago. There was no tree or gifts exchanged but you spent the day in church rejoicing then gathered for a feast. I met over 200 relatives at that dinner. The love and joy expressed at our visit was extraordinary and the church service was amazing, rejoicing and singing to the lord on the day of his birth. My mother left Ghana in the 50's, it has become the only country so far in Africa that welcomes the descendents of slaves... no visa required. In three years you can become a citizen. Opportunity abounds and I couldn't be prouder.

As a child growing up, this was always me and my siblings favorite scene. We 100 percent identified with the music, the choir, the preacher, and the members dancing "in the spirit". Still love this movie after all these years.
