Used a ton of the Mora Basic 511 (Carbon) 546 (Stainless), Pro, and the Robust when I was doing construction and Ventilation. And they are such great value for the money, and every single hardware store sells them super cheap so they are such convenient and great knives to have around the job sites.

It’s the Scandi grind of the Mora that makes it better, it just stays sharp longer

Looks like Jerad didn't mind the tip. Tragic.

This is why you a LTK are my favorite knife reviewers. You’ll have one video reviewing a $1000 knife and another video reviewing a $30 Ganzo. I respect that.

Scandi for me is bites which makes it better for working with wood, a flat grind isn’t as good at wood work but is more of an all around outdoors knife. It’s more slicy, you know tomatoes, onions for your burger an still works ok with wood tasks. Just my thoughts .

Love my Ganzo folders, but will stick with Mora knives for fixed blades

I don't get rigid wallets personally, especially metalic ones. If I carry back pocket, it'll get bent when I sit down, if I carry front pocket it's sharing space with my knife and has metal parts on it which risks scratching of one or both. Thanks but no thanks, that said glad to see you getting some sponsors you don't mind working with, I can always skip if it's not relevant for me and you deserve the funding I hope comes with it.

It's a closer copy of the Benchmade 200 Puukko.

To me the Ganzo G806 looks more like a clone of the Benchmade Puukko 200 than a Mora.

Moras are very quick and easy to sharpen. The guide is built in. My garberg in 14c is awesome

Nice to have options. Also, it might be a good knife to learn sharpening. (The Ganzo fixed blade.)

I have a bunch of Mora knives (companion and 511 models) in both carbon and 12C27. The carbon ones tend to hold a better edge (similar to 1095) and the 12C27 ones are more stainless but both are very tough steels. Nice to see Ganzo offering a different grind at this price point as scandi (Mora knives are mostly scandi ground) is great for bushcraft but aren't the best slicers. The Ganzo ones would also make a great cheap food prep knife for camping. Ganzo knives are a great option for those on a budget or just a knife that gives no worries if they are beaten up or lost. Thanks for the great vid Jerad and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable

i think the blue Mora is the Pro-S (stainless) and the red one is carbon (Pro-C).
edit: my Firebird fav is the FH91. same fit, finish, and action. but better blade shape for my taste.

Well, that tip on your knife didn't break because of the steel itself. It broke because of the grind. That skandi grind has a much thicker tip. That Ganzo is not meant to dig into that wood and pull it to the side. It's a puur cutting tool, not a crowbar. I have both knives and I think they perform very well!

With Ganzo I feel like the company has knife lovers working for it. Mora is heritage. And I think the maker has been dead forever. Now it’s bookkeepers running the show. Though I have beat on Moras for twenty years. Good variety J.
