Amy did the right thing

She saved herself from dying from cancer and possibly saved other women

I can only imagine what she felt when told the news, almost certainly it was jaw-dropping after thinking she didn't need to be tested, good to hear it turned out okay

About 20 years ago my lovely rescue dog, Spike, jumped onto my parents bed one morning to wake them up, and planted one of his paws on my mother’s chest by accident. When the paw shaped bruise faded, she noticed that she still had a little lump there, and went to her GP who immediately sent her for a mammogram, then a biopsy. It was breast cancer.

The oncologist said that it was caught really early, thanks to my clumsy dog, otherwise she probably wouldn’t have noticed it for months. She had surgery and made a full recovery. What were the chances of him plonking his foot down in the exact location of the tumour? Not the typical story of dogs sniffing out cancer, this was purely coincidental, but he was still a really good boy!

My mom recently recovered from breast cancer from different treatments, and I’m really happy that this can potentially save more lives ❤

Amy Robach should have kept listening to Robin Roberts’ advice. She helped save Amy’s life in one instance and was trying to help her save her career in another. Robin Roberts is a gift!

Looked in the dictionary for the word 'resilience' there was a picture of Robin Roberts... what a beautiful woman who suffered enormously thru cancer and a secondary cancer as a result of the first and treatment...but she persevered and came thru and survived... she is so humble and yet so strong...I treasure that woman with love and admiration...truly an inspiration !!

My mum had breast cancer 20 years ago and still here with us 👌👌. It's not a death sentence anymore. Always get your scans done - no excuses.

A little context as to why she was (understandably) scared of getting a mammogram, it's because the breast has to be compressed flat using a machine, which applies up to 20 kgs of pressure, it can cause bruising, rupture breast implants and cysts, and blood vessels too

Lived to cheat on her husband. Truly heartwarming story.

She's probably beyond glad that she agreed to this!

i can understand why she didnt want to have it done. it hurts so much.
but it is incredibly important, as she found out. thankfully her colleague insisted. love they had that program to spread awareness.

The issue is that the procedure itself cam be painful/damaging for women, especially those with larger breasts, it's getting better, but it still isn't exactly comfortable (source: my mom is a nurse)

Asking a woman about something like that on live TV isn't nice. She probably would have agreed the first time if she asked her off camera .

That's awesome! I know that women in my country either are required or heavily encouraged to do these scans regularly after they reach a certain age. I can also clearly remembering the state giving out women's health care advice to teenagers on how to massage their own breasts, so they easily can feel if there's anything new that could be a growth of any kind.
