My mom is suffering from increasing dementia so her tiny maltipoo No lives with me. Between the agony of watching my mom fade, The death of my wife, and the death of my cat, the last year has been excruciating. If it wasn’t for this little dog there would be days or weeks at a time that I probably wouldn’t get out of bed much less leave my house. So yeah, in a very real way she is saving my life.❤

My Pom Bella saved my life as well. A messed up surgery in the military cut my career short and left me disabled with nerve damage for the rest of my life. A divorce followed leaving me at the lowest of lows in 2010. This little dog is the only thing in my life that reminds me there are good days. Food and grooms brings out the dancer in her. Up on two legs and clapping her front paws together, she will just twirl until you give her attention. Still spunky all these years later and the best cuddler. I will be devestated the day she is no longer with me.

My 87 year old mom has a Pom mix who’s a million years old. She doesn’t hear well but she still has a massive appetite. I hope both of them live forever.

I can say for certain, my cat saved my life. I got diabetes shortly before finding her alone without her mama. So I rescued her. Cleaned her up, fed her, and she's like velcro to me. She has a way of telling me when I'm going hypo, by bugging me, and laying on my chest. She's a super hero with fur. I can never thank her enough.

I adopted a dog one year ago when I was struggling with depression and anxiety. It helped me go out of the house and got me smiling every day. Dogs are true friends. ❤️

I got my puppy just before I realized that my marriage was over. He and I finished my degree, with him telling me that we'd read enough for the night, thank you. Decades later, his portrait remains hanging on my wall while he's in my heart. ❤

My German Shepherd Nadia’s nickname was simply Puppy. Every time she did something good I said “Well done, Puppy” in an higher voice. Even when she was full grown I called her that. We did agility and joined many competitions with other clubs. People watching our performance always looked a bit astonished when they saw me clap my hands and praise Nadia with “Well done Puppy!” after the finish line, as she was huge!
We ended 3rd of The Netherlands in the debutant class. She loved agility! Even when cuddling or during walks I said Puppy to her.
She lived to be 13, 5 years old and died in 2016. I miss her still! 😢

Gidget is a very beautiful dog, and I’m happy that she helped you during a tough time. I have two pomeranians who also saved my life.
This is gonna be a bit heavy, but I was going through a lot of tough times with family stuff and whatnot. I was also dealing with pretty bad depression and was debating ending it all. One of my reasons for not going through with it though was because if I did, I knew my poms would realize I’m gone. The thought of them knowing I wasn’t there tore at me so I stuck around for their sake. They were the only things that made me truly happy during my bouts of depression, and I enjoyed caring for them a lot.
Eventually I ended up in a mental hospital to recover and all I could think about was how excited I was to see them again one day.
Had it not been for my dogs, I probably wouldn’t even be here. They’re pretty much the reason why pomeranians will forever be my favorite breed.
