Henry is right up there with John D as my favorite Jiu-Jitsu scientists. I tried Xande’s Diamond Concept with limited success; I think Akins gets to the underlying principle better, as simple as it sounds. I’m a 9 year black belt but still in search of that ultimate unifying concept which is the simplest to actualize under extreme pressure.

Henry is the GOAT at conveying information via simple concepts. What a privilege to have a student of Rickson who is so articulate and clear in passing on the wisdom

I really like this hanry atkins guy. His side control video, I started using it right away, and he explains the basics in a way that make a lot of sense to me.

This is such great concept to follow. Everyone is trying to learn all these open guard movements and it can get a little complex. So I like things that are simple to learn.

Does to feet on the outside expose you for leg attacks?

At 5:25, how did he just stretch his leg and get his butterfly hook when Bernardo had the leg weave? 🤔

So Henry is saying it’s not a bad thing to play half guard offensively.
It’s just bad to try to retain a half guard whenever a pass is initiated. You can get back to your half guard game once the threat of the pass is dealt with by two in or two out.
