Sony are not in the monitor business, so it does not financially benefit them to allow it. They want you to buy TVs💸💸 . The reason Microsoft allow it is because they neither make monitors or TVs .

1440p 144hz is perfect and those monitors are actually a good price . I’m not spending 1k for a 4K 120hz monitor . 500$ for a 1440p 144hz is perfect

it's so annoying I only have a 1440p monitor and the downscaling to 1080p looks way worse than on a 1080p monitor... I just hope they'll bring an update soon for native 1440p

There are already TVs that have refresh rates of 120Hz with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). The only thing monitors win on is the response time which is lower than on a TV. But is it enough for you to notice it? Probably not anymore

Hey, last year I had to buy a new display because my only one broke. I knew the ps5 was launching later that year so I opted for a 1440p 144hz monitor because it had good resolution and more than enough frames (also affordable 4K 120hz tv didn’t exist at the time) well fast forward half a year, and I found out I can’t even get 120hz which is the whole reason I wanted to buy it in the first place. My monitor is the acer nitro VG271U Pbmiipx do you have any solution?

In terms of the upscaled resolution on your 1440p monitor, is it really as bad as people make it out to be… or does it look okay? I know that upscaling 1080p to 1440p isn’t ideal, but is it really as bad as people keep going on about?

Do you personally play with the black bars on the sides? I bought an ultrawide monitor without knowing that playing on ps5 my screen would be stretched or i could play with black bars. I dont know if i should keep it or not

PS5 can't even output true 4K at 60 FPS. It's absurd that they won't support a resolution their hardware can actually handle while maintaining decent FPS. I really wanted to get a PS5, but with it seeming less and less likely they will ever patch in native 1440P support, I guess I'll be taking my business elsewhere this console generation
