You should test with identical tires. Cooper tends to be more adequate for mud then snow, is not really a snow tire. Also same driver on both will give us a better understanding.

From the first ascent my feeling was that 1.5 dci had weaker grip. You used the tires offfroad this winter a lot. The 1.3 had new tires for sure.

inexperienced drivers... i mean, 17" wheels in off road and locking the wheels while going down? nope... that is a big no.... the difference in the weight it is not that big, 74kg less for the tce.... the torque it is not that different either, 250(yes, 250Nm not less) for the tce and 260 for the dci BUT, 250Nm from 1700rpm and 260Nm from this is the first 1.3 tce in off-road that i see and it did better than expected....

Excellent video, i was always suspecting that TCE will perform better and now we have evidence.. TCE has longer 1st gear with more HP up near the rev limit, which helps momentum in steep uphill climbs like the first one we saw. TCE clear winner. Apart from this even the winter tyres seem to grip better than cooper which is strange given the fact that the soil is not frozen and beneath there is mud...

Interesanta comparatie! Totodata daca as fi putut (si sunt constient de limitarile administrative), as fi comparat ambele masini cu aceleasi anvelope si cu acelasi pilot...

Testul corect ar fi fost dacă ambele mașini ar fi avut exact același tip de cauciucuri, dar, dincolo de acest aspect, cred că Duster-ul pe benzină e mai ușor...

215 tires, both? I think it's a mix of torque (in this case less is better) and weight.
...by the way: a FIAT Panda with Steyr-Puch 4x4 (the old 4WD system) and 155 offroad tires goes literally everywhere - 740 Kg mass ;-)

Maybe it is the fact that the duster with the petrol engine is lighter than the duster with diesel engine.

Amândouă mașini se descurca destul de bine in test, totuși dacă erau echipate cu anvelope de off-road se descurcau mult mai bine. Să aveți parte de ele cat mai mult și fără evenimente

You guys certainly like your Dusters! I am thinking of buying one. I sat in one yesterday in the showroom. Big, aren't they? Thing is the Dacia dealer is next to the Renault dealer. I sat in a Clio. Lovely. The Duster? Oh my God, a big difference...but still something something attracts me to the Duster. The looks are nice. And the price is amazing for the size of the vehicle. Are they reliable? Does anything break or fall off inside? Please let me know. I am interested in a 1.3 petrol 4WD. Not the top spec.

Eu cred că la panta aceea ..daca era nevoie de viteza....și mă refer la 1.5 dci. Putea să ruleze in treapta 2(care este destul de scurta și are destul de multa putere) și astfel nu mai rupea aderenta atât de rău. Mașinile sunt aproape Doar stilul de condus diferă.

A lot of difference to the way two drivers approach the path...obviously the tce has much more speed which is the key to such terrains
