someone told me that i shouldn't turn off my pc at night coz it causes more damage on the hardware on startup but i learned that it was just for older pc models. my pc is just a year old and the parts and it's not far off from their release dates and now i shutdown my pc every night when not in used but I don't shut it down if I'll just be gone for 1 or 2 hours.

I always thought that you should just sleep your PC. I had a PC die on me because I shut it off too much. But I got a newer one recently so I’ll probably switch to shutting it off every night.

I use my laptop about 12 hours a day mostly for video conferences. It is always plugged in while I am using it. So in my case it would be best to shut down my laptop and turn it back on when I am ready to use it the next day right?

I was advised to not turn off my computer at night cause I live near the beach and have 80 to 90% humidity lvl. Is it wise to keep it on sleep over night .

Can i ask if i sleep mode my pc does it consumes electricity? Does it make my electricity bill high? My cpu is i5 8th gen and a rog rtx 3050 with a 750 power supply

I turn mine off whenever I’m not using it for a while. I also have it plugged into a power brick along with a bunch of other things. I turn the power brick off just in case any of the devices plugged in is still using a little power when off.
