CALIFORNIA ROAD TRIP ITINERARY! THE ULTIMATE ROUTE 1 ROAD TRIP! LA TO SAN FRAN PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY

Sharing the ultimate 2 week California road trip and how you can fit in LA - San Fran along route 1 Highway in just 2 weeks! We have done this trip 4 times now and love Pacific Coast Highway and all the stops along this iconic road trip.

This California road trip can easily be adapted if you have longer than 2 weeks or if you have less time then take out Palm Springs to save yourself a few days. I love California for having so much to do and so many amazing sites in a relatively compact area.

My wife and I loved your video. It’s a trip we’ve been lucky enough to do a few times and found some special places along the way. I’ve got to speak up though about feet on the dash! Rarely does anyone involved in an accident see it coming, and should that happen to you with your feet on the dash, the explosion of the air bag will force your knees into your face. You’ll lose your front teeth and break your jaw. This is no joke. I’ve seen it happen several times. Please don’t do it, or encourage others to do so by including such footage (pardon the pun) in your videos. It’s so dangerous.

I’m from Palm Springs. It’s about 2hrs away from LA. If you have a chance to land anywhere our airport is PSP but I recommend you land in San Diego and drive to mecca Painted Canyons if you enjoy hikes (take an SUV only or a 4x4 vehicle, a fwd car will definitely get stuck in the sand) and then check out Palm Springs downtown, on Thursday nights we have the streetfair and our museum is free, drive to LA and make a stop to the dinosaurs because if you drive from LA here you’ll be disappointed because there’s nothing to do there. After the dinosaur then continue up and check out White Water before 5pm, free parking and entry. Then follow up with this video, as a local this is where I like going before visiting LA

Loved your itinerary, I loved your passion for the places your have been, , . Palm Springs needs to include a Thursday for the farmers market...it is so nice and welcoming...
Personally... I love the whole San Francisco to San Diego trip...
San Fran for 4 days.. and you don’t even need a car for that time.. hire bikes...
Drive south... maybe wine country... you have a massive choice of towns on the drive south..San Luis Obispo, Solvang, cambria, Santa Barbara.
Couple of nights around Santa Monica and Venice Beach.... only downside is the smell everywhere...
Personally.. I love Newport Beach the best.... balboa island.. i love orange country... I do miss Irvine spectrum for my shopping..
Across to Las Vegas.. 5 hours drive for a couple of nights... cheap rooms... plenty to do for a couple of days..
Drive to San Diego for the final days...

I think it's always better to start in San Francisco then work your way down to San Diego and Palm springs. Don't see the point starting in LA then going back on yourself all the time

"Ascadero" is a quaint American town haha. It's possibly the worst town on the central coast 101. SLO, Paso, Templeton all are way better.
