Highway 395 road trip through Mammoth Lakes, June Lake, Bishop and Bodie in 4K

Highway 395 is one of my favorite roads in California. There are so many amazing hikes, lakes, restaurants, historic spots and photographic opportunities all up and down the drive. Amie and I were invited by Yosemite Gateway Chalet to spend 4 days exploring, and we jumped at the chance. This video focuses on the area from Mammoth Lakes to June Lake but shows lots of other spots you can explore around those areas as well.

My girlfriend and I have lived in California for many years, but had never seen any of the sites in this video. After watching, we were both very inspired to take a road trip to the area and finally see it for ourselves. We visited most of the sites and even most of the restaurants mentioned in the video and we had a total blast! Thanks for what you do Josh!

I don't know what to say or how to say it. The East side is special.
I'm just jealous. A surely old man who, once upon a time lived, and traveled, all over California.
Your vids are educational for those who need to get out.

I really appreciate you giving the osprey its space! It's nice to see creators making great content without exploiting wildlife or crossing closed trail signs!

Thanks for the low music volume! Good scenery doesn't need any music, Beauty in Nature sings it's own song! Thanks!

LA native born and raised here...nice video...its great that the area has be preserved and your generation gets to enjoy it...i spent lots of time with my family and later scouting going up 395...the june lake loop was a favorite although no lodges, trendy restaurants or bars were to be found...more like 2 pump gas stations to check your radiator...mom and pop cafes..a few 30s style motels and best if all hiking in to camp alongside one if the lakes..the hot springs..going to sleep with a million stars then waking up to the smell of camp coffee at dawn..a half hour fishing at first light bagged enough for pan fried trout and eggs for breakfast while you watched everything wake up..days of hiking..canoeing., ..wouldn't trade that experience for any lodge

That drive from Lone Pine north in the winter is as pristine and fantastic vistas as anywhere in the world. No exaggeration.

Josh & Aimee this popped up again in my feed and I was so excited to rewatch the video. Silver Lake Resort and the surrounding areas have been a huge part of my life for the last 30 years. It’s the California most have not explored. Good times.
