Excellent video. My doctor told me to always take my blood pressure 3 times. To skip the first reading, and that usually the second and third readings will match. When one is relaxed.

Basically all of us has had our blood pressure taken improperly. U get in and they immediately put the cuffs on you and head rate beating 110 mph because I just climbed 2 flight of stairs and then I get misdiagnosed with hypertension

So I've basically never gotten my blood pressure taken properly.

As a truck driver who is required by law to get a physical once a year in order to keep my job having my BP taken by someone who doesnt know what they are doing pisses me off which only makes my BP go up. Ive learned to tell them I have white coat syndrome and I need a minute to sit and relax before they take it. The last physical I had the girl doing it was really good. She put the cuff on and told me to close my eyes and breath deep and after a few minutes she took my BP and it was 123/70.
Some of her coworkers want to get a reading right after you just walked from the waiting room.

Hi! Whenever the nurse is taking my blood pressure, I feel so anxious, I get depressed by being there, and I have a panic attack. So, it's always so high 😮😔

I always ask the nurse to come back into the exam room and take my bp AFTER I've been sitting still for awhile. If it's too high, I blame it on whatever the Dr. had to say. 😜

True. Not everyone knows how to check BP. Quite a few nurses will rush me in the room, hike me up on the examining table and pop that sleeve on my arm. Here goes my BP as high as a kite .

I insist they retake my blood pressure a few minutes after the initial one. I walked up 2 flights if stairs. I walk in...Boom. 150/90. When I asked for a redo...it's usually 135/78-ish. Big difference.
