Most nurses and some doctors don't know how to take blood pressure readings and they are getting worse and that is why I researched this and started taking my blood pressure readings about 30 years ago. I started with a manual gauge and a stethoscope, then a mercury one. I've used digital upper arm and wrist. I always got about the same readings looking over about 10 years of readings that I have in Excel. And like the nurse in the video I also make sure the center of the cuff is over the artery. And the hose just like the nurse shows is running it down the center of arm which puts the artery marker on top of the artery.

Because of the loose skin and fat on my arms from lifting weights I started having a lot of problems getting accurate readings about a year ago. So now I use a wrist monitor making sure the cuff is in the right place and my arm is positioned at heart level. 2:32 2:32

My blood pressure was 183/113. I have been taking blood pressure medicine and it’s still high. I even exercise 30 minute walks a day.

Blood pressure monitors are pointless af and I don't really understand why they're still used. Most people have bad anxiety so they get high readings when doctors check them. Plus every time they check mine. They don't even do it right. Like they'll take it the moment I walk in which isn't the correct way to do it. You're suppose to let the person sit still for 15mins before taking their BP. Tho again. Anxiety and other things like eating or just waking up can cause BP spikes which is normal. Anyone diagnosing high blood pressure off a BP reading from a monitor shouldn't be a doctor. The only real way to get a accurate record is with a 24hr BP monitor.

What if the blood pressure readings are higher for the upper readings quoted but lower for the lower readings or vice versa?
