The most painful part is waiting in the chair for them to pull it

Literally sitting in the dentist chair waiting for the dental surgeon to get ready, I hope he’s right

I've had two teeth pulled, my dentist, which was at a dental urgent care, so not even that good, totally numbed my mouth with surgical strength orajel and a shot in the shot. There was absolutely no pain. However, even if you were to do it without any numbing agents, it takes like 60 seconds and the relief afterward is so incredible. No reason to fear, get that painful shit ripped out asap.

I had 1 extraction that really hurts so badly cause it's too infected and anesthesia is a little help, so it's better to extract your teeth early when told by the doctor

It honestly depends on your dentist, I was terrified of the feeling of an extraction due to my teenage experience of having a tooth pulled that kept giving me a stabbing pain whilst they wiggled it. The dentist I saw today was faster, way more polite without judging the rest of my teeth and I felt nothing at all. I had a broken wisdom tooth and a broken first molar, it only took a minute and a half to get them both out. Most of the time in the chair you are just chatting to the dentist about your day and biting into some sugar pills to calm the local anaesthetic adrenaline.
Worst part is biting on the gauze because the pieces are massive and your tongue thinks you're being deep throated

Ok I had a upper molar tooth extraction back in 1993, and I am having another tooth extracted soon. Back in 1993, I was having like an earache and I felt a burning sensation on the gum and my left face hurt. I used ice packs but it only help for a short time. As the pain intensify and having no insurance. I went to my county dental only to extract the tooth. It was not painful like I thought it would be. I was given a shot to numb the surrounding gum where the tooth was to be extracted They used a tool to pull the tooth out. All you feel is pressure and finally you hear a small crack and out comes the tooth. God! I immediately felt something was draining away from my ears, cheek and gum and I felt so relief - no more pain. I think they cauterize where it is bleeding and your set to go. Then I was given gauzes to place at the extraction site and to change it like every 1 hour. because of the blood. I got home and rest and 2 hours later, I started drinking some water (NO STRAWS) and eating plain Ice Cream (NO NUTS OR FRUITS). Why Ice Cream because it numbs your gum especially the extraction site and still fill your stomach. I suggest for anyone to get your favorite Ice Cream (No nuts or fruit in the ice Cream), protein shakes like Boost, Ensure. etc, and Jello before going to the procedure. I healed up within 3 days and began eating solid food, I simply chewed on the opposite side of mouth. With time your mouth will be working in full capacity. So there don't be scared.

When I was a kid the dentist that I had could never hit the nerve right so every time I went in it always felt like there was no anesthetic at all I hadn’t been to the dentist in five years and went and got my tooth polled today my new dentist was an absolute gentleman and numbed me with the first shot took 3 to 5 minutes to pull my tooth and it didn’t hurt at all so honestly it just depends on the dentist good luck to all and if you’re feeling nervous just know that the pain that you’ve Felt while your tooth was hurting is far more pain than you’re going to feel than actually getting it removed

just got mine pulled and honestly wasn’t bad. the injection it’s self didn’t even hurt for me. there is quite a lot of pressure tho which you can feel and it sorta hurts but not bad plus it’s over with in like 2 mins very easy 🤣 not ready for the next few days tho for the soreness lol, but then again it all depends on the dentist. some may do it differently. so if you’re getting your tooth pulled and are super nervous.. i was too lmao it’s really not all that bad it does hurt a little but truly isn’t all that bad.

It's my day one and it's very painful. Anyone who's getting their teeth removed remember to stay calm and take the lord's name 💜

I am still traumatized by the pain after nearly a year. It was intense, the worst pain I 've ever felt; I cried - but it only lasted during the extraction and stopped in the evening of the same day. SO IT IS DIFFRENT FOR EVERYONE

I felt a bit of breakthrough pain, though to be fair my dentist did ask if I was numb and I wasn't sure but just agreed, and she did say to raise my hand if I wanted her to stop and I could get more local anaesthetic, I found the pain level tolerable as I have had ear piercings that were worse! Healing is generally where things are worst, but I have a split tongue and healed it- the pain from the teeth was worse and so far the healing is easier! Worth it!

Just got my tooth extracted. It didn’t hurt when they injected my gum. until the dentist was trying to pull it out, it felt like my jaw being hammered lol. She said it hurts because I smoked right before going there. It doesn’t make sense to me but you smokers can learn a lesson from my experience

First time after years I visited dentist I needed surgical extraction because pain was huge. I awaited huge pain during operation. I was really prepared to suffer, cry, shout in pain. After 1 minute it was done I didnt feel any pain. I was so surprised that I am starting smiling. Go to dentist, it doesnt hurt, no pain, if you ll feel pain, ask for second injection. Pay for your teeths, or your teeth punish you really hard, dont wait.... go, GO, thank to GOD and our perfect scientist that dentists today can work painless. I really love my dentist.
